With the season well underway, we would like to take this opportunity to highlight upcoming opportunities to get to know the Forest City Diving Club (FCDC) program.

Are you looking for a March Break Camp that gives your children the opportunity to learn about the exciting sport of diving? Look no further. Campers will not only be instructed in the fundamental skills of diving, but they’ll also have fun in a friendly and nourishing environment.

To participate in our March Break Diving Camp, no previous knowledge of the sport is necessary, as those unfamiliar with the sport will learn all about diving skills, as well as water safety, all under the watchful eye of a Provincial Level Diving Coach at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre.

A typical day at camp includes warmup activities and pool time (diving will be from 1M, 3M and tower). Each day’s theme is reflected in exercises, crafts and games. Between 4pm and 5pm, parents are encouraged to watch their children’s progress.  Early before-care (8:30am drop-off) and after-care (5:30pm pickup) are available. For more information, please, visit our website! www.ForestCityDiving.com.

PLOUF Program – Spring Session starts end of March

This Dive Ontario-sanctioned program is designed specifically to teach our young athletes core skills inherent to the sport of diving, as well as core life skills, such as communication, support, inclusion, resiliency, courage, strength and grace. The program consists of six skill levels. Instruction will be on 1M, 3M, and depending on the comfort level of each child, on Platform as well. Our Spring session is 10 weeks in length, and classes are 1-hour long. There is one instructor for a maximum of eight children.

FCDC Adult ‘Learn to Dive’

At FCDC, we understand that the sport of diving is not only attractive to the youngsters, but the adults as well. And we are now offering Adult Recreational classes. We understand that an adult schedule differs greatly from that of school-aged children, so we are now offering a 10-visit pass for adults. Classes run on Fridays from 6:15-7:15pm. Come any Friday during the 2017-2018 season, and if you bring a friend and have them sign up, you’ll earn a free class! Passes are renewable at your convenience!

National-level divers recognized by Dive Ontario

Our national level divers have been doing exceedingly well. Under the guidance of our head coaches, Luda Zakharenko and Wing Yun Hu, they have achieved excellent results at the provincial, national and international levels.

In the fall of 2017, several Forest City Divers were recognized at a Dive Ontario banquet for their achievements, including Provincial Record Breakers (Katelyn and Nigel) and Divers of the Year (Nigel, Nathan, Faith and Al’x)

Meanwhile, FCDC members representing Team Ontario include Alexa, Nigel, Katelyn, Camryn, Anika, Faith and Joshua. FCDC has been their ‘diving home’ for many years, and we are pleased to have them as part of our London diving family!
