The Forest City Diving Club (FCDC) Summer Diving Camp is right around the corner! So, it’s time to save the dates and secure your spot!

For the Summer Holidays, FCDC offers summer camp for children ranging from 6 to 12 years of age. Our camp offers a comprehensive approach to deliver dive foundational training to campers, while at the same time teaching about pool safety, nutrition and dryland training – and there’s no shortage of fun activities in between!

Your child does not require any previous knowledge of diving to attend a camp, but rather they get to know the sport through our camp in an exciting, safe and supervised environment. The 2018 FCDC summer camp is run and instructed by our own Level 2 coach, Bowaine Ma. Our program is designed to teach the basics of springboard diving and, depending on comfort level, your camper may venture up to the platforms.

Additionally, crafts, taekwondo, soccer, volleyball and other games guarantee an overall rewarding summer camp experience. We offer early drop-off from 8:30 a.m. on to late pickup until 5:30 p.m.

Many of our competitive divers started out in summer camp, and once they got the taste of diving they proceeded to our year-round FCDC diving program.

In addition to summer campers, FCDC is also calling on all 6 to 9-year-old girls and boys to try out for our pre-competitive program on June 9, 2018 at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. We are looking for athletes who wish to pursue the competitive stream of diving. This program is geared towards getting the aspiring diver to assemble a dive list in order to compete. Commitment is twice a week for pool time and, depending on level and ability, strength training, conditioning and ballet could potentially be added.

Should your child have any previous gymnastics or related athletic experience and would like to add the element of water to their sport, or simply wonder if this could be a new sport to test, come and join us for the June 2018 tryouts. We are very excited and are looking forward to this summer, as London will be hosting the 2018 Ontario Summer Games and will be welcoming over 3,500 young athletes showcasing their skills in 21 different sports. Please mark August 2-5 in your calendar!

Top Ontario athletes ranging in age from 12 to 18 will be participating in this event, and at FCDC we are thrilled that our home pool, the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, is the dive competition venue. So, please join us, get to know the sport of diving, and cheer on your Ontario – and especially your London – athletes!
