Diving into spring!

Aspire Invitational – C Girls

The Forest City Diving Club’s Aspire Invitational was held in London on January 25 and 26. FCDC had 17 divers compete during the weekend event, against clubs from across Ontario. It was the first event of the year for our provincial level athletes, and they competed on 1m, 3m and platform events in their age groups. The divers, who have been practicing under the guidance of their coaches all winter, collected an impressive 27 medals over the two-day event. Congratulations to all divers!

While diving is an individual sport, divers train together, support and encourage each other, and cheer their team mates on. The benefits of this sport are life lasting – friendships, travel, self-confidence and team spirit is amazing.

FCDC’s March break camp is a great opportunity for children to try diving. The camp is run at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, where children do dryland training and are in the water twice a day (mornings and afternoons). Between pool sessions, the camp leaders lead the young divers in various activities and sports. Please visit our website at www.forestcitydiving.com for more information about our March Break camp – and all the other FCDC offerings, including summer camps, too!
