Dancers set for Christmas classic

Sports teams practice for games, and dance groups rehearse for shows. Dance Steps Company, which consists of a keen group of 55 dancers from Dance Steps studio, has been rehearsing since the summer for their Christmas performance of The Nutcracker.

This traditional story is a holiday classic, and it includes dances such as the Battle of the Rat King and Nutcracker, Chinese Dance, Spanish Dance, Dance of the Snowflakes, Russian Dance and Reed Pipes. It is estimated that Dance Steps dancers will have used over 40 pairs of pointe shoes to perform the show – as well as over 136 costumes, 28 tiaras and 98 head pieces (including hats, masks, bows, ribbons and chop sticks)!

While sports teams can prevail whether or not there are people in the stands, performers depend on an audience to enjoy the outcome of their hard work. Dance Steps Company invites everyone to attend this magical performance!
