Today we are excited to announce that London’s own Damian Warner will be this year’s recipient of the honour of Sportsperson of the Year at the 60th annual Rogers Sports Celebrity Dinner & Auction.
Damian is a double medalist at the world championships, most recently winning silver at the 2015 event and was a bronze medalist at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics.
He is the reigning Commonwealth champion from the Glasgow games and the reigning Pan-Am champion from the games in Toronto.
Warner says “Being named London’s Sportsperson of the year is a great honour.
I attribute this award to all of those people in the London community who have supported me during my Track and Field career.
A big “thank you” to everyone who has played a part.
I wouldn’t be able to pursue my dreams without you.
I look forward to representing London on the national and international stage for many years to come and am very proud to call London home.”
The 60th annual Rogers Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction will take place on February 23rd, 2016 at the Metroland Media Agriplex.
