Larger-than-life superstar, Cleveland Brownlee of the London Majors, visited the newly crowned LDBA Champion London Tecumsehs last night at Dreamers Sports Complex. The evening began with Cleveland sharing some baseball stories and words of advice to the attentive group of 11-year olds. “You need to eat, sleep, and breath baseball” said the always charismatic Brownlee. “And I challenge all of you to do 50 push-ups over the course of a day. It’ll make you stronger, throw harder, hit farther, run faster… and of course look better”.

The Tecumseh boys, who were in awe of the big man, put together some of their best swings as Cleveland did some soft toss and worked with each of the hitters. ‎It didn’t take long to realize that this was a man who “ate, slept, and breathed baseball”. Fresh off their EPIC playoff run, the team soaked in the advice from the knowledgeable Brownlee, with hopes that they could continue their success this weekend at the OBA Provincial Championships.

Cleveland concluded the evening with one of his signature swings as he mashed a ball to straight-away centre, that we’re pretty sure hasn’t landed yet. He then asked the boys “how many push-ups are you ‎going to do each day?” When they all replied “50”, he said “well then you’ll only be as good as the guy next to you… you need to do 75!”

The London Tecumsehs head to Niagara Falls this weekend to represent London and the LDBA against the top teams from around the Province.
