Game Time Football is looking to build on the success of its inaugural season, which saw approximately 85 young
athletes take the field on Saturday mornings for some good old-fashioned flag football fun.

A recreational league designed for everyone who loves to play the game, as well as those who have never
played before, Game Time Football is open to both boys and girls, ages 6 to 14. A strict non-contact policy enables players of all sizes and levels of ability to compete in exciting football action in a safe and fun manner.

League founder and President Paul Chapman is a longtime coach with the London Minor Football Association
(LMFA) and was named Atom Coach of the Year this past season.

“I absolutely love football, and I love what the LMFA does in teaching kids the proper way to play the game
safely,” he said. “But I also understand that tackle football might not be for everyone. It might seem a little intimidating for some kids, and their parents, so we thought we’d see if there was any interest in a flag league to help introduce kids to the game who otherwise might not get the chance to play.”

Turns out, the interest is definitely there. Of the 85 youngsters that played in the league last season, about 90% had never played organized football before, and at the end of the season seven or eight of those kids signed up to play tackle football with the LMFA in the fall.

“The goal is to make the football experience for our players as safe, fun, and captivating as possible. We strive to make each player feel like they are getting a professional league type of experience in a recreational league setting.”

Divisions and teams are divided as evenly as possible based on age, experience and skill level. Games are played
5-on-5 and there is NO tackling and NO blocking. The season runs from the beginning of May through June with games played Saturday mornings between 9am and 12pm in St. Thomas.
