The Elgin Middlesex Chiefs have been selected to host the Ontario Hockey Federation Championships for the Atom AAA division this April, and the organization will welcome hockey players and their families and fans from all across Ontario. The tournament will take place at the Komoka Arena from April 12-14.

What is the OHF Championship?

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Minor Hockey Championships is a 3-day event that produces OHF Branch Champions at the Atom AAA division. The tournament takes place at the conclusion of every major hockey season. Five teams participate at each of the OHF Championships. The participants are the Championship teams from Alliance, Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL), Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) and Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) plus the host team. These 5 teams will compete all weekend to be named the top team in Ontario.

The Championship is not just an opportunity for the league champions to come play for bragging rights. It’s an opportunity to play the highest competition and meet new people and make friends and memories, all while playing the game they love. It gathers families and fans from across Ontario to the Elgin-Middlesex-London area to play Canada’s favourite pastime.

The Host Team – Elgin Middlesex Chiefs

‘TEAM – Together Everyone Achieves More’ is the motto used by Chiefs head coach Marc van de Ven over the past two seasons, and it has helped lead the host team to great success – both on and off the ice. van de Ven and his coaching staff instill in the team that it takes all 17 players to contribute to each and ever game to have success.

Last season, the Major Atom Chiefs finished with an impressive 28-3-1 record and won the International Silver Stick Championship. The team has continued with their success this season, finishing their league in 2nd place in their division with a record of 23-6-3. The team is extremely honoured to be able to host and participate in such a prestigious event.
