In anticipation of its 50th anniversary next April, the London Squash and Fitness Club (LSFC) is holding a series of events leading up to that impressive milestone. On September 10, the club hosted a cocktail reception to kick off the party. The club’s founding member, Mr. Bill Duffield Sr., was in attendance to cut a ceremonial cake, and recount his memories of the club’s establishment in 1966.

The London Squash and Fitness Club, located at 76 Albert Street, London, ON, is a non-profit, member-owned organization, and is a hidden gem in the community. What was once a family home has undergone several expansions over the years, including over half a million dollars in facility upgrades in 2011. The LSFC now features four international singles courts (two glass-backed) and one glass-backed North American doubles court. It has a well-equipped fitness center on the second floor, and a main floor club lounge with a fully licensed bar.

The club is active throughout the year with member ladders, club tournaments, city league matches, exhibitions, and social events. An annual highlight is the Nash Cup – a PSA and WSA sanctioned tournament that brings some of the world’s top male and female squash professionals to the club.

Stay tuned for upcoming events as the LSFC approaches its 50th birthday!
