Since 1958, the London Minor Football Association has been London’s only minor football program. With a place
for every child aged 7 to 13, regardless of size, athletic ability or experience, our mission is to prepare players for high school football and create football fans for life.
After another successful season in 2015, the next generation of football players is working hard in the off-season to get better. Every Friday night for 10 weeks in the winter, over 100 young athletes attend the LMFA indoor skills camps at Centrefield Sports. The skills camps are now five years old and have grown every year. LMFA coaches are joined by guest coaches and LMFA alumni to teach football skills and keep kids active in a fun, relaxed setting. This year we are lucky to have current Waterloo Warrior Ben Shanley running receiver drills every week.
While the current generation of LMFA athletes are preparing for the season that opens in August, their coaches
are training to get better as well. Many LMFA coaches completed the Safe Contact course from Football Canada over the winter with another course scheduled for the summer. Summer will also see the annual LMFA Women’s Clinic – a football introduction for moms.
Registration for the fall 2016 season opens online April 1st – the season’s registration fee of $275 includes the rental of all football equipment, a jersey to keep, as well as a team picture.
