The Biggest Loser may just be the biggest hit down at REV3K, and more and more people are trying the intense 12-week program that aims to start people on the right path to total body fitness.
“You will never know your limits until you push yourself to them,” reads a tagline from a REV3K video on the gym’s website. And that’s certainly true of Biggest Loser participants, who take part in a rigorous workout plan and receive a nutritionist-designed diet that, combined, result in the loss of pounds and inches.
Each season of the Biggest Loser has proven to be a huge success, with participants losing between 20 and 30 percent of their body weight. Biggest Loser teams meet up each week for a check-in and weigh-in, and REV3K coaches walk the participants through each step of the process as they make a lifestyle change that produces bigtime results. Past program ambassadors also help guide people through the process.
At the end of the program, participants celebrate with a 10K race.
Last season, which was the 12th cycle of the Biggest Loser, there were 47 challengers, and many of them lost in excess of 50 pounds — thanks to a combination of intense workouts and improved eating habits (learned from a registered dietician).
New programs start three times a year, with the next beginning on Jan. 11, 2015. Biggest Loser participants have unlimited gym and class access, weekly check-in classes and 1-on-1 coaching.
Based on the principals of CrossFit and Olympic Lifting, REV3K is about high-impact exercises that work every major muscle group. Participants are always experiencing entirely new routines.
Workouts can include a wide variety of equipment, including Olympic bars and platforms, kettle bells, dumbells, rowing machines, spin bikes, plyo boxes, medicine balls, and more.
