This year marks the 40th anniversary of London Beefeater football, which has provided young men aged 19-24 an opportunity to pursue their football dreams.
The London Beefeater motto, ‘Committed to Excellence’, summarizes our vision to promote character development through football excellence and a quality program. It is our mission to develop, throughout the organization, the skills necessary for success not only in football but in life as well.
As we prepare for the 2015 season in the Ontario Football Conference, we are looking forward to another great year. Beefeater Alumnus Rob Annen has taken over the head coach position from John Vouvalidis, who stepped down after three very successful years to concentrate on his family and coaching his high school football team. Rob brings years of experience in football as a player, coach and executive.
With our continued successful relationship with Greg Marshall and the Western Mustangs university football program, as well as the fine athletes who come to us from Fanshawe College and the excellent local high school graduates who join the Beefs, we expect to once again field a strong team in the extremely competitive OFC.
Our main training camp will open August 3 at John Paul II C.S.S. at 7:00 p.m., with games played at City Wide Sports Park.
A bonus this year is the 40th anniversary celebration. Plans include our Homecoming Game against the Grand River Predators on August 29 followed by our 4th Annual Beefeater Golf Tournament held at Forest City National on August 30. Whether you’re a London Beefeater alumnus, (player, coach, volunteer) or a dedicated football fan, mark the weekend of August 29 on your calendar!
