The London Mens Baseball League wrapped up its 2018 season on Sept 23 with the three final games being played – under ideal conditions – at Dan Pulham Stadium.

New champions were crowned this year in each final, showing that the league is accomplishing its goal of team parity through its mandated drafting process for new players.

Things kicked off at noon with the B Championship game between the Tigers and Pirates. It was a fantastic game and perfect way to begin Championship Sunday. In the end, the Tigers managed to hang on for a tight 2-1 victory and claim the B title.

Game #2 was the marquee matchup for the A Championship, pairing the Athletics and Aquarium Services in the heavyweight battle for top dog. In the end, the A’s couldn’t overcome an early deficit, and Aquarium Services earned a well-deserved and long awaited A Championship title by a score of 8-4.

Capping off the day was the A Consolation game between the Red Sox and Rays, and this game had a very exciting finish. Trailing 12-11 in the bottom of the final inning, the Rays had the bases loaded and two outs – but they couldn’t complete the comeback. The Red Sox got the final batter to pop-up to third base to end the game and secure the A Consolation win.

It was a fantastic end to a great season. Now it’s time to start planning for next year!

The LMBL is a drafting league, as all new players register as individuals and are allocated to the existing 14 teams in the league through the drafting process in April. We do not accept team entries.

We are a recreational league, but playing experience is recommended. Players must be cognizant of their abilities, as baseball can be a dangerous game for those lacking the basic skills necessary. Our league ranges in age from 30-80.

Registration for 2019 is now open. Visit our website for more information, or to register.
