Crack! Snap! Ouch! No, you’re not hearing the sound of ball hitting a bat. You’re hearing the sentiment of most of our ‘old-timers’ the day after the start of the new ball season.

The 2018 LMBL season is now in full swing, and most of the rust has fallen off. We had an exciting start to the year, and two teams in the A Division started out the season with impressive undefeated streaks, including the Werewolves and the Rays, who showed that an offseason coaching change hasn’t hurt their chances at making a championship run.

The Blue Jays appear to be the team to beat in the B division, as they try to work their way back into the A Division. It won’t be easy, though, and they have several challengers nipping at their heels this season – including the 2017 B Division champion Orioles, who are looking to retain their title trophy.

If you’re looking to follow the standings, check out www.lmblbaseball.ca. All the glorious stats will be there, as well, including a record of the first ever triple hit by our illustrious Vice President (although some say it may have been friendly scorekeeping!).

The London Mens Baseball League is an ‘over 30’ men’s league based in London, Ontario (baseball, not softball or slo-pitch!). We play most games on Sundays, from May to September, at locations including Labatt Park, Dan Pulham Field, Byron, and Dorchester. Our league ranges in age from 30 to 80!
