The end of the competitive season is always a time for reflection. This year, Forest City Diving Club (FCDC) holds new provincial records: Daria Chambers in the Girls D1 1M and 3M and Alexa Fung in the Girls C1 1M and Platform.
At the Jr. Development Nationals, Nigel Chambers received a bronze medal on Platform and 6th on 1M, while Alexa Fung placed 4th on 1M and 7th on 3M and Platform, and Daria Chambers placed 7th on all three boards. At the Elite Level, Nathan Marshall placed 10th in Platform, and Camryn Hughes placed 10th on Platform. Joshua Inglis was the synchro gold medalist, and Katelyn Fung was a two-time silver medalist (3M and Platform). Both earned a spot on the Jr. National Pan Am team that took place in Santiago, Chile in August. Katelyn did not disappoint with her international debut, as she came home with a gold, silver and two bronze medals, the only Canadian to compete in four events. Joshua Inglis competed in the Men’s 3M Synchro event and earned a bronze medal finish.
At the Aspire Level, our athletes participated in multiple invitations across the province. These athletes continue to improve and strive towards podium finishes. Congratulations to our National Team Ontario recipients: Daria Chambers, Alexa Fung and Katelyn Fung, and to our Aspire Team Ontario recipients: Raquel Scratch, Ayden Reid and Ella Hayes.
FCDC is continuing to grow its competitive diving groups. This year we added the Rising Stars program, which is a pure foundation program. Not ready to commit to the sport but want to experience jumping off the high boards? Try our Learn to Dive program. We offer four 10-week sessions starting Sept 9. Online registration is open now!
