The 2015 season will mark the 13th year of existence for the London Junior B Blue Devils, but a new era is on the horizon!

Back in 2003, those who spearheaded the launch of junior lacrosse in London had the primary goal of providing players from a growing Blue Devil minor program with an avenue to play locally at a higher level. Fast forward a decade later, and little has changed. The London Minor Lacrosse Association (LMLA) competitive program is once again undergoing a period of growth and development with the addition of a second team in many age groups and team rankings at the ‘A’ level.

In late 2013, the LMLA executive was faced with the reality that the London Junior B program was in jeopardy under its current structure due to lack of funds and volunteer support. Unwilling to let the program fold, though, the minor association agreed to add the Junior B team to its own roster.

Much like the inaugural 2003 season, 2014 had its share of challenges, both on and off the floor, but new General Manager and Head Coach Ron Elijah hopes all that is behind them now as he takes the reigns. Elijah has some exciting changes in store for the 2015 Junior B Blue Devils and their fans, and a new venue is just one of them. Since 2004, the Blue Devils have called Earl Nichols arena home, but this year they will move to Lambeth. Players and coaches are looking forward to using the spacious Lancer Jr C pro-style dressing rooms and coach/trainer areas.

Elijah has also added new blood to the bench staff, and lacrosse fans will be familiar with at least one of the newcomers. The Blue Devils are excited to welcome Dilan Graham to London! He brings with him a wealth of experience gained as a player in Junior A, the Canadian Lacrosse League (CLax) and the National Lacrosse League (NLL).

Blue Devil followers will notice the team sporting a different look this season, in addition to their new jerseys. The Junior B’s logo will change to match that of their minor counterparts, a move that will help to link the junior and minor programs. Our youngest players will help to entertain fans as they take centre stage in Lambeth to play halftime mini-games. Once again this year, all LMLA players are admitted free to Junior B home games!

The Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior B regular season schedule runs from April to June. Admission prices are unchanged from last season: Adult $8, Students/Seniors $5, Kids 12 and under are free (as are all LMLA players). Season passes for all 10 regular season home games are just $50!
