Eager Beaver Baseball Association’s 36th annual Colman Day celebration once again showcased the skills of our young baseball players and paid respect to the volunteers that founded the league. Held in honour of one of the founders, Frank Colman, players chosen by their teammates compete in all-star games at Labatt Park. The day starts with all T-Ball players participating. Then, all-star games run from Rookie right through to the Midget division.
This year’s Colman Day festivities were made even more special by the attendance of family members of several of the founders of EBBA. Frank Colman’s son, Frank Jr., and his niece, Sandy Wagter, as well as Gordon Berryhill’s nephew, Ed, and Al and Rita Marshall’s son, Richard, and their grandson and great grandsons were all present to throw out first pitches and watch some exciting, if rather wet, baseball.
EBBA provides house league baseball for players 4 to 21 years of age. Registration for the 2020 season will start online January 1. For more information, please visit www.ebba.ca.
