The North London Galaxy entered the summer-long Ontario Cup tournament in mid July, defeating each team they came up against. After beating London’s AG Garrincha U13 team in the semifinals on August 29, the U13 North London Galaxy went on to defeat the North Mississauga Panthers at the Ontario Cup Finals in a tense match on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the OSA Headquarters in Vaughan, Ontario.
In the 79th minute of the game, the Panthers scored the first goal of the game, which the Galaxy countered less than a minute later. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, but the Galaxy captured the U13 Ontario Cup after winning the shootout 3-0.
The girls are thrilled about their win! Congrats to the girls and their coach, Rahim Mohammed, on a fantastic season of soccer!
