The London West Tincaps Major Mosquito team (U11) continued their dominance in June at the Greater Niagara Baseball tournament (June 15-17) in Niagara Falls, a tournament that included some of the best teams in the province.

The defending provincial OBA champion Tincaps played extremely well throughout the tournament, winning each of their games in convincing fashion – including a win against a previously unbeaten Niagara Falls team in the round-robin.

In the semi-finals, the Tincaps played a hard-fought game against the Kitchener Panthers, but prevailed 9-6 behind some strong hitting. In the championship game, the London team led throughout, thanks to strong pitching from Ben Adamson and Marcus Bonello, and cruised to an 8-2 victory.

Marcus Bonello was named the Finals MVP for his strong pitching, and Nick Petruzella was named tournament MVP for his tenacious baserunning and great play in the field. All 12 players contributed to the tournament win, and the coaches are extremely proud of the way the kids played on the field – and the way they conducted themselves.

The Tincaps have now won four straight tournaments dating back to last year, and the team looks to continue their strong run throughout the summer.
