After a whirlwind winter jam-packed with baseball, softball, soccer, football, cricket, camps, clinics, lessons, birthday parties and more, Centrefield Sports is excited for all those athletes who put in the hard work during their off-seasons at the facility to now show what they can do outside this summer!

The facility’s summer will be highlighted by three outdoor camps, hosted at the Byron Optimist Sports Complex and featuring a vast number of former major leaguers, Olympians and professional and college ballplayers, who will staff the camps as instructors at Centrefield Sports. The summer camps will run through the weeks of July 9 to 13, July 30 to August 3, and August 13 to 16. Registration is open, so register today to secure a spot!

As home to the Great Lake Canadians, London’s elite amateur program which plays in the prestigious Canadian Premier Baseball League, Centrefield Sports is also looking forward to seeing what the organization’s seven teams can do on the field after sweating it out indoors the last several months. The program will head into the CPBL season as reigning champions of the circuit at three different age levels.

Since January, the Canadians have seen three players secure their futures with 16-year-old right-handed pitcher and outfielder Eric Martin committing to Indiana State University, 18-year-old infielder Kian Bukala making his commitment to the University of Indianapolis, and 18-year-old right-hander Jacob Schuurman deciding to head to Calvin College in the fall. They join seven other players currently in the program who have committed to further their careers in the collegiate realm.

As summer approaches, Centrefield Sports will continue to be available for all of your athletic needs. And while hours will be reduced through June, July and August, so too will the prices. Through those three months, the facility will be closed on Fridays and Sundays, with reduced hours throughout the week. Also during those warmer months, all of the facilities’ prices will be slashed in half or more, so take advantage and stay in shape before getting into those outdoor games!
