What is Mind Gym?
Mind Gym is a new concept for mindset training that is being launched by Natascha Wesch. Natascha is a former international athlete and coach, and now a Mental Performance Consultant who works with elite athletes the world-over to help them reach elite mind performance. Mind Gym utilizes the same approach as a regular gym: to develop fitness and strength. At the Mind Gym, we develop strength of mindset rather than strength of body.

Imagery Training Program: July – August 2017
The first Mind Gym training program being launched this summer is the 4-week Mental Imagery training program.

Imagery (also commonly known as visualization) is a skill that athletes can tap into to help them reach their goals. Most athletes already use mental imagery naturally, though often not in a systematic or purposeful manner.

Similar to physical skills, mental skills like imagery need to be practiced and used in a variety of settings so that one can call on them when the pressure is on. Mental imagery is a powerful mind-skill that can be used for many purposes, including:

  • Achieving goals through mental preparation for success
  • Adjusting pre-competitive and competitive mood and energy levels (for example, if you are too nervous, you can help yourself relax by mentally taking yourself to a quiet, calm environment)
  • Learning, correcting, or enhancing sport skills or sport strategies
  • Maintaining sport skill levels when injured

This 4-week training program includes 4 one-hour training sessions offered in small groups (maximum 10 athletes) where you will learn how to develop strong imagery skills, use and master imagery for performance enhancement, and learn to create your own imagery training program.
