Adam Dekracker started playing with London Minor Football in grade 6 with the Cobra Atoms. He played for the Forest City Thunderbirds the following spring, and then played two more seasons with LMFA and another with the T-Birds. But in the fall of 2015, Adam made up his mind that he wanted to try out for the Jr. Mustangs, instead of returning to the Thunderbirds in the spring.
Dekracker knew a few kids who played with the Jr. Mustangs, and in the winter of 2016 he signed up for the tryouts in April. Right from the beginning, Adam noticed that everyone made him feel welcome, and he loved it right from the first practice. Dekracker enjoyed the intensity level of the practices, and he commented frequently about how knowledgeable the coaching staff was and how friendly the returning players were.
“I enjoyed playing for the Mustangs because I really loved the intensity and the effort the coaches put into the program,” Dekracker said. “I was taught to have a good work ethic and to always be on time. I loved the way we treated every team with respect and class, and that we took every game seriously. No time off and no underestimating an opponent. I’m really excited for the upcoming season, and this year we are going to make playoffs!”
Adam’s Dad, Rodger, says he was impressed as a parent with how the Mustangs’ staff expected the kids to become better people, better sons, and better students, and that family came before football. From the moment that Adam’s parents met Coach Jay and some of the other staff and players, they felt at ease because they were made to feel so welcome. Adam learned a lot about life and football this past season, and he and his family are looking forward to next year.

I was the team manager and my husband Stuart was the Equipment Manager. We love being part of the Junior Mustangs Family and sharing in their successes. Nothing can replace watching the players focus while preparing for the next game and watching the players grow on and off the field. Our family has made friendships that will last a lifetime.” — Sharon Braid [/templatic_contentbox]Submitted by London Jr. Mustangs
