The St. Thomas Soccer Club was formed in 1966, and the organization was celebrated in St. Thomas on August 20 with a party that was 50 years in the making.
Festivities began at Athletic Park in the morning and included bubble soccer and reunion games featuring players from the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s, all the way up to today’s players.
The celebration ended with a banquet at the St. Anne’s Centre, which featured St. Thomas’ favourite local historian Steve Peters talking about the history of the club within the community.
It was a tremendous event enjoyed by all of the soccer community in St. Thomas. Everyone agreed that they couldn’t wait for the 100th!
