Chelsea Zavitz
East Elgin Secondary School
Chelsea Zavitz is an honour roll student at East Elgin Secondary School, where she is a multi-sport athlete competing in basketball, hockey and soccer. During her secondary years, she has been acknowledged with multiple awards and achieved many accomplishments, including a podium WOSSAA standing in all three sports and an OFSSA bronze medal in soccer. Chelsea has won multiple MVP awards, and has been recognized as Junior Athlete of the Year and Leader of the Year. The young athlete was also presented with the Stu Phoenix Award, given to an E.E.S.S athlete who displays characteristics like determination, strong work ethic, and a desire to attain success. Chelsea demonstrates outstanding leadership abilities, and was selected as co-president of her school’s Athletic Association. Chelsea has often been recognized as either the captain or assistant captain of her teams. She is also active in her community, volunteering her time to coach the past three seasons in the St. Thomas Soccer Club (the U-8, U-9 and U-10 girls competitive teams). In addition, Chelsea has organized and run clinics for the East Elgin Youth Basketball club, and has also coached the St. Thomas Shock Novice girls basketball team for the past two seasons.
