Three years ago, the London Sharks volleyball club started the developmental league for boys and girls aged 10
to 14. This year, the 14U girls, formed mostly by players that started their volleyball career in the league, have earned one gold medal and one silver medal, and are now competing at the Premier level.

The 13U girls, meanwhile, are also doing their part with two gold medals and one silver medal this season, which
places them among the 10 best 13U girls team in Ontario. And in the boys division, the 13U team, also formed mostly from players from the developmental programs, have finished 5th in all of their tournaments this year.

All those achievements wouldn’t be possible without the work done by the Little Sharks coaches. Little Sharks is
a program for boys and girls 5 to 9 years old that provides these future athletes with the necessary motor skills to participate in any sport activity they choose (with an emphasis, of course, on the game of volleyball). Little Sharks graduates have the opportunity to join the Sharks Academy and participate of the 11U teams that will participate in different volleyball festivals organized by the clubs in the region. Sharks Academy program is designed for kids 8 to 10 years old with advanced skills interested in competitive volleyball.

This year, in partnership with Ontario Volleyball Association, London Sharks has started SMASHBALL. This is a
new innovative program for boys 7 to 11 years old, which seeks to increase the participation of boys in the sport of Volleyball. The game is very dynamic and brings a lot of excitement to the participants while at the same time improving their volleyball skills. The London Sharks developmental programs make sense. The club’s goal is to introduce young athletes to the
sport, improve their motor skills, teach them the sport, and immerse them in a competitive environment while avoiding, as much as possible, the stress that participating in sports can bring to families.
