The organizing committee for the 2016 Rogers Sports Celebrity Dinner & Auction is excited to announce the members of our Head Table for the 60th annual event in support of the Thames Valley Children’s Centre.
This year we will celebrate Toronto Maple Leafs of the past and future including former captains Doug Gilmour, Darryl Sittler & Rick Vaive.
We will have 2015 Maple Leafs 1st round pick & London Knights co-captains Mitch Marner and Arizona Coyotes 2nd round pick Christian Dvorak.
We will also be joined by Western Mustangs defenceman Katelyn Gosling. A CIS champion in 2014 and now member of Team Canada that recently won the 2016 Nations Cup.
We are happy to have London Lightning coach Kyle Julius and all-star Garrett Williamson.
Our TVCC Ambassador this year will be Sam Denton.
Denton is 17 and in grade 12 at Parkside Collegiate Institute in St. Thomas.
Sam has been an active member of Canada’s Paralympic soccer team and is currently training for the team’s next competition in Denmark.
We are very happy to have London native and Rogers Sportsnet personality Christine Simpson serve as our emcee.
Simpson says “’I’m always thrilled to get a chance to come back to London and be a part of the dinner.
Having grown up there it’s always nice to see a lot of familiar faces in the room.
This will be my 3rd time being involved and with the list of sports celebrities coming this year it’s sure to be another great night, as well as a great chance to raise much needed funds for the charity.”
Event Co-Chair Jim Cressman says “These are exciting times for the Rogers Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction and the Thames Valley Children’s Centre as we enter a new chapter with our 60th anniversary edition of an event that grew from being the brainchild of a handful of sports media types to now a long-standing tradition in the Forest City.
Our tireless volunteer committee has worked hard at assembling this year’s head table lineup and we’re proud to dub this year’s event ‘London Loves The Leafs.’
We’re also very excited to be partnering with Western Fair District as we move our event to the Metroland Media Agriplex, which we see as an opportunity to grow the dinner and auction even more.”
This year we will be offering 2 different price points.
A ticket including dinner will be $150 each, With our new venue it also allows us to offer bleacher seating and those tickets will be $20.
The 60th annual Rogers Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction will take place on February 23rd, 2016 at the Metroland Media Agriplex.
Tickets can be purchased at Ldnsportsdinner.com
Net proceeds benefit Thames Valley Children’s Centre.
