Fiery Season for LVC 17U Boys

This season’s LVC 17U-Heat had some new faces, but found much of the same success. The core of the players, together now for five years, welcomed some new teammates in 2014-2015, as well as two new coaches, Jeff Demeza and Sean McKay. It was a whirlwind year, complete with 11 tournaments, (six at the 17U level and six playing up a year against 18U opponents!), and a trip to the Windy City of Chicago! The squad left with not just plenty of hardware, but substantial individual and team growth. The 17U-Heat found themselves once again amongst the best in Ontario, and Canada, finishing with a bronze medal at Provincials and fifth place at Nationals in Calgary.

Leading the way for the boys have been three standout performers, each of whom has earned a berth at this year’s prestigious OVA 18U High-Performance Centre (HPC): Daiken Edwards, David Doty and Taylor Jordan. Responsible for distributing the offence, Edwards was aided in the assist column by the aforementioned Doty who, along with Jordan, earned over half of the team’s points on the season. The three are also being heavily recruited by colleges and universities across North America, all while still in grade 11!

After another successful club season, these guys can hang up their LVC swag for the summer and set their sights on the next goal, a position on the 2015 edition of Team Ontario! Best of luck at tryouts!
