The London Aquatic Club’s 260 swimmers are proud of their club’s storied tradition of excellence and performance in competitive swimming.

Our program is designed to provide opportunities for children aged 7 years and older to develop their swimming skills and confidence, not only so that they can test their abilities with other swimmers from across the region, the province, and the country, but also to give them the confidence, strength and fitness to always be safe around water — whether it’s a pool, a lake or an ocean.

Competitive swimming develops skills for life, including goal-setting, time-management, self-discipline, and teamwork. These are all attributes not only of successful swimmers, but also of successful people, and LAC provides the environment for these traits to be nurtured and strengthened.

Pictured is our Age Group Blue Squad, training at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre on Wonderland Road North. These swimmers range in age from 11 to 13 and swim up to five times per week for a total of six hours, as well as doing one hour of dry land training per week. Most of the swimmers in this group have started in our Development Program, swimming two to three times per week. Then they’ll move into our Age Group Orange Squad, which has four water sessions per week totalling five hours.

Our coaches are all certified through both the National Coaching Certification Program and the Royal LifeSaving Society. For more information on our growing programs, phone 519-857-SWIM (7946) or visit our website: londonaquaticclub.ca.
