Spring Field Lacrosse

The LMLA Jr ‘Stangs eagerly awaited the snow to melt so they could kick off the 2014 season in early April at City Wide Field. With the

outdoor game gaining popularity across Ontario, London also noted an increase in their registration for this program with all of our teams boasting full rosters. This year, our U15 team joined the ‘A’ ranks where they are competing against the top teams from across the province. Our U11, U13 and U17 teams are playing in the Western Ontario division and have high hopes for the 2014 season, which finishes up with the Provincial Championships in Brampton May 16-19.

Competitive Box Lacrosse

London Lacrosse has also experienced significant growth in the number of boys interested in competitive box (indoor) lacrosse. An unprecedented number of our boys’ divisions have two teams this season (Tyke to Bantam), with the Novice, Peewee, Bantam and Intermediate #1 teams ranked ‘A’ in the pre-season. According to Competitive Director Ron Elijah, lacrosse has a “very promising future” in London due especially to the growth in the younger age groups.

The Blue Devil boys have a busy summer ahead, playing league games extending as far west as Windsor, along with tournaments in Peterborough, Owen Sound, Sarnia and many spots in between! We also continue to offer a competitive box program for girls, who have their own Peewee/Bantam and Midget/Intermediate teams this year. Good luck to all our teams as they gear up for OLA Provincials in early August!

The 2014 season marks the first ever girls’ competitive box tournament in the Forest City! The Blue Devils’ Invitational Girls Box Lacrosse Tournament will take place May 30 to June 1. LMLA is excited to host female athletes from all over Ontario in this large Novice to Intermediate event. Show your support and come watch the ‘fastest game on two feet’ from May 30 to June 1 at both Stronach and Kinsmen arenas!

House League

London Lacrosse also continues to operate a very successful house league program. With 26 teams and players ranging in age from 2 to 21, it continues to be one of the largest in the province. From the first day of orientation in mid-April until the Day of Champions on June 28, house league lacrosse offers friendly competition to both new and experienced players.
