The U12 Byron Strikers opened their season by travelling to Sandusky, Ohio to play in the Cedar Point Coaster Classic Soccer Tournament, where they enjoyed great success.

After losing their opening round robin game to Glanbrook FC, 2-0, the Byron squad went on to win the remainder of their games in the division, beating Lambeth 2-0 and Lyon FC 10-0 to secure the wildcard and advance to the finals to play the Puslinch Predators. And then they steamrolled the Predators, 4-0, to win their bracket and a championship title!

“It was a total team effort,” said the Strikers’ head coach. “[We had] a rock-solid goalkeeper, tough and unforgiving defensemen, smart plays from the midfielders, and great finishing from the forwards. This tournament was a great way to start the season, and everyone is looking forward to more team growth and success in the months to come.”
